Victoria adopted NCC 2025 on 1 May 2026 with no transition period. Three changes reach the drawings on most commercial projects.
Three things that land on the drawings.
Tighter fabric and glazing
Section J4 is strengthened, with new thermal emittance rules for roofs and stricter solar admittance criteria for wall-glazing. Glazing specified to a 2022 report does not automatically pass.
Which edition applies depends on your permit date and the state the project is in — adoption runs from 1 May 2026 in Victoria, WA and the ACT, and 1 May 2027 in NSW, Queensland, SA and Tasmania. Tell us the date and it is confirmed before quoting.

The edition your project is assessed against follows the permit date and the state, not the calendar. A job permitted before adoption stays on the earlier edition — which is why three editions are still in use here at the same time.
